Unit description
This unit discusses the nature of a software licence, issues to consider when reviewing/determining the scope of a software licence and provides an overview of other key issues, such as intellectual property, license fees, and performance warranties.
In the second part of this unit the learner will be provided with a basic understanding of the key legal/commercial issues associated with the deployment of Open Source software.
In addition, they will gain knowledge of critical issues to be addressed in a software support agreement and the relevance of these issues to both the supplier and customer alike.
