How do I get the Qualification?

Study is by distance learning. The flexible, home study format allows delegates to study at their own pace. Comprehensive course materials - including guidance notes, course syllabus textbooks and assignments booklets - are provided at the start of the course. The course is structured into a series of modules and corresponding written assignments which must be completed in numerical order.

Once all assignments are successfully completed, delegates will undertake a final written exam, usually in their own offices at a date and time of their convenience, or at a formal examination diet in Birmingham.

The course registration is for eighteen months. There is no minimum time for completion so if delegates have the time to commit to the course they can complete it and be qualified in as little as two months.

On successfully completion of the qualification, students will receive a Specialist Paralegal Qualification at a graduation ceremony held at the prestigious Bristol Cathedral, the University of West of England (UWE)

Furthermore, provided you meet the other membership criteria, graduates of the UWE Specialist Paralegal Qualification are eligible to become Qualified Paralegals with the Institute of Paralegals (the highest of the four designations for professional paralegals under the Route to Qualification career path) - and to use the letters F.Inst.Pa (Fellow of the Institute of Paralegals) after their name.
